Paper Mills Firm Seeking Quick Decision
A £330m scheme for two recycled- paper mills in west Norfolk has been submitted to planners less than two months after the project was first announced. Family-run German paper-mill firm Palm Paper is ploughing ahead with its plans amid competition in the industry to get the first new paper mill built in the UK in years, plugging a gap in the recycled-paper industry sector.

Massive Machine on Order for Paper Mill
One of the largest orders for a paper milling machine in Europe has been placed by German firm Palm Paper, cementing the company's plans for King's Lynn. The family-run firm, which has announced plans to build a £330m recycled papermill to produce newsprint for the English market, is not due to take over the former sugar beet factory site fully until early next year.

Morston Assets has started construction of the first phase on its Kingswood Lakeside Office Scheme at Cannock. The first office project on this major new development site will see 70,000 sq ft of self-contained, two-storey offices taking shape - 11 of them in all - by July, with floorspace ranging from 1,529 sq ft to 5,519 sq ft. Morston Assets have been involved with the Kingswood Lakeside project since 1997.

One of Kwik-Fit founder Sir Tom Farmer's core investment companies has more than quintupled profits after its portfolio generated a sharp rise in income. Morston Securities, which is based in Norfolk, posted a pre-tax surplus of £2,323,154 in the year to July 31, 2005, up from £462,010 in the previous 12 months. Turnover climbed from £1.5m in 2004 to £3.5m. Morston paid £2.9m in interest on borrowings in 2004/05 including bank loans of £48m. It ended the year with net assets of £5.7m.
