Morston is the lead developer and majority landowner promoting Yours Whitecross, a 200 acre mixed use development in Central Scotland. The site, designated a Special Initiative for Residential led Regeneration (SIRR) by Falkirk Council, is also recognised by the Scottish Executive as a part of the Scottish Sustainable Community Initiative (SSCI), being one of only eleven sites.

The development includes the regeneration of the Former Manuel Brickworks in Whitecross that closed in 2000, as well as land adjoining the existing Whitecross settlement. The site will be serviced by a dedicated access off the A801 just a short distance from junction 4 of the M9 motorway and will include a 30 acre University Business Park centre around Yours Business Network Whitecross. YBN Whitecross will comprise managed workspace, meeting and conference rooms and provide a hub for high quality IT and AV communication equipment utilised throughout the development; aimed to not only suit the needs of local businesses but will provide facilities for home workers, providing a multi-use building at the very centre of the community.

Yours Whitecross aims to deliver 'Good Homes, Good Jobs, Good Neighbours' bringing life back into a disused brownfield site.

Current Status

Morston obtained a minded to grant decision based on the award winning Cadell 2 Masterplan on 13 March 2011 subject to a Section 75 committing the development to standard conditions addressing educational, transport and affordable housing provisions. Morston have completed heads of terms with Falkirk Council are seeking to conclude and register legals in by September 2011.

Demolition of the former industrial buildings commenced in April 2011 and is scheduled to complete in October 2011; infrastructure works including site re-profiling, road construction and creation of serviced development parcels is scheduled to commence September 2011 to enable development partners to commence onsite in March 2012.

The Opportunity

Morston are seeking strategic development partners to work together to deliver phase one of the development, opportunities exist to acquire parcels of serviced land to construct up to 500 residential units to include self-build, outright purchase, or development agreement.

Opportunities exist within the University Business Park to include outright purchase of serviced land, and pre-let opportunities for office, retail and light industrial in Yours Business Network Whitecross.
